About us
Our vision
A Kāpiti Coast where nature thrives.
What we do
We support existing predator control groups through helping to share best practice, build connections across the coast, and provide access to advice and extra volunteers.
We connect with our counterparts across the Greater Wellington region so we can all work together towards our common goal - a predator free 2050.
We help to set up new groups in parts of our district where predator free work is currently missing, identifying potential leaders and providing them with the support they need to grow their own group.
We share information with those working in our district, including good news, innovative action, and funding opportunities.
In time, we hope to coordinate funding applications across multiple groups to allow access to larger sources of potential funding.
Who we are
We’re a small group of volunteers from across the Kāpiti Coast. Some of us have been involved in trapping projects for a long time, others have joined more recently or come from other environmental work.
We are an independent group, but we keep strong relationships with the Department of Conservation, Kāpiti Coast District Council and Greater Wellington, and all three organisations have delegated a staff member to work with us.
