Join us at Ōtaki Pestival

Pest Free Ōtaki is inviting the community to roll up their sleeves and join the fight to protect New Zealand's native wildlife at Pestival 2026, a free family event celebrating conservation, biodiversity and community action.

Taking place on Sunday 11 October at the Ōtaki Memorial Hall, Pestival will showcase how every household can play a part in creating a healthier environment for native birds through simple predator control and backyard conservation.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet local conservation organisations, hear from respected conservation speakers, watch live trapping demonstrations, explore the latest predator control technology, and learn how to make their own backyards more wildlife-friendly.

Families can enjoy a range of interactive activities, including the Junior Pest Controller Passport, where children complete hands-on conservation challenges and earn a reward for becoming young conservation champions.
