Waikanae River trapping

PFKC have been working with Predator Free Waikanae to start trapping up the Waikanae River East of the Old Highway bridge. This is in line with our efforts to strengthen the ecological corridors running from the sea up into the hills. 

The focus is on the Otaki River, the Waikanae River and the Southern corridor running through QEP and Whareroa and on up to the Kapiti Kiwi project in Maungakotukutuku Valley and the Akatarawa Forest. We’ll be talking more about our plans for this mahi soon as we join with a range of agencies and local groups.
